The Economist has an interesting chart showing a handful of cities, ranked according to the latest cost of living data. New York provides the benchmark with a score of 100. The world's most expensive cities, in order, are Paris, Tokyo, and Oslo, with scores around 140. Mumbai is down in 131st place with a score below 50.
